Scenic Hawai'i sponsors talk

Jack Gillmar, president of the Kapi'olani Park Preservation Society, will give a talk titled "The View from La Pietra — Scenic Hawai'i in the 1920s and 1930s," at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the Hale Koa Hotel, Banyan Garden Room.

Scenic Hawai'i is sponsoring the talk, which costs $20 and includes a luncheon.

Ex-CEO to cover airline's plan

Bruce Nobles, former Hawaiian Airlines chief executive officer, will discuss the proposed reorganization plans of bankrupt Hawaiian Airlines at 7:15 a.m. Thursday at the Rotary Club of Metropolitan Honolulu meeting at the Plaza Club.

The meeting is free but there is a fee for breakfast and coffee.
