Two-car crash injures 6 on Pali

Six people, including three children, were injured in a two-vehicle traffic accident yesterday afternoon on the Pali Highway.

None of the injuries was serious, police said.

The accident occurred about 3:50 p.m. when a Kailua-bound Neon crashed into a white van near Dowsett Avenue. The impact knocked the van onto its side and sent the Neon into a wall on the Honolulu-bound side of the highway.

Two adults in the Neon were listed as being stable yesterday, police said, and three children who were in the back seat of the car were not seriously injured. The driver of the van also suffered injuries, but police said they were not life-threatening.



QUEST sign-up today in Hau'ula

Parents and guardians in Windward O'ahu can learn more about signing up their children for free health insurance through QUEST and Medicaid at the Hau'ula School Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at Hau'ula Elementary School.

Hawai'i Covering Kids Kahuku Local Project will have an outreach booth at the bazaar to answer questions. The program includes children of working parents and immigrants and covers them to age 19. Eligibility is based on family size and household income.

For example, a family of four earning less than $43,000 may qualify for the free insurance for their children. For more information call 211, the Aloha United Way service hotline or visit www.coveringkids.com.



'Eggstravaganza' at Koko Head

The city Department of Parks and Recreation will hold its annual "Easter Eggstravaganza" at 9:30 a.m. today at Koko Head District Park.

The annual Easter egg hunt and games are for children ages 12 and under. Participants will receive goodie bags.

Registration for the egg hunt will be at 9:30 a.m. at the park, 423 Kaumakani St. The egg hunt will begin at 10 a.m., with games to follow. The event is free.
