Funeral services scheduled for Wesley Batalona

Funeral services have been scheduled for Wesley J. Batalona, a Big Island man who was killed in Iraq last month.

Batalona, a 48-year-old retired U.S. Army Ranger, was among four civilian contractors killed by a mob in Fallujah on March 31.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Honoka'a Ward.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, and burial will follow at Honoka'a County Cemetery.

The family suggests casual attire.

Batalona, of Pa'auilo, is survived by his wife, June; daughter, Kristal; father, Joseph; brothers, Joseph Jr. and Ka'ai; sisters, Clytie Wong, Velma Muraoka, Uilani Shibata, Mathilda Mason, Aloha Dela Rosa and Krisann Batalona; mother-in-law, Violet Baquiring; and numerous nieces and nephews.
