• The HIGH TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT CORP. will host a workshop to teach small Hawai'i agricultural businesses how to apply for federal money to help them develop innovative agricultural technology. Leading the workshop will be William R. Goldner, national program leader for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The federal Small Business Innovation Research program provides money for innovative technology development in a number of agricultural arenas, including forests, plant and animal production, food and nutrition, aquaculture and wildlife. • The MINORITY BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT CENTER OF HONOLULU offers weekly orientation sessions to minority business owners and prospective entrepreneurs. The free sessions, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. in the center's offices in Suite 2506 of the Executive Center, 1088 Bishop St., offer advice on business startups, marketing plans, loans, employee handbooks and access to capital. • A free "COMPUTER BOOT CAMP" is offered weekly, from 3 to 4 p.m., to small-business owners who want to use computer technology to improve and expand business operations and management. The program is sponsored by the Small Business Resource Center, in partnership with the Small Business Administration, the city Office of Economic Development, Hawai'i Small Business Development Center Network, Hawai'i Women's Business Center and SCORE. • Four young entrepreneurs will share their insights and personal experiences in "THE DILEMMA OF YOUTH: CAN YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS SUCCEED IN HAWAI'I?," a free presentation by the University of Hawai'i College of Business Administration. The panel discussion will feature Ericka Drayton, owner of Waimanalo Laundry Service; Zachary Lee, owner of Sugoi; Shelley Wilson, founder of Wilson In Home Inc.; and Adam Wong, owner of Great Harvest Bread Co.
