Dr. Randal Wada, a Cancer Research Center of Hawai'i researcher and medical director of the Hawaii Bone Marrow Donor Registry, received the National Bone Marrow Program's Network Innovation Award in the "donor focused" category.

The award recognized a new process that Wada and his staff at the Hawai'i Bone Marrow Donor Registry developed to identify donors who have the best chance of being called in a search for a transplant.
