Mid-Pacific scores early, often in victory over Pac-Five, 11-2

Ryan Asato went 4 for 4, including a three-run homer, five RBIs and three runs scored, to help Mid-Pacific to an 11-2 victory yesterday over Pac-Five in an Interscholastic League of Honolulu baseball game at Mid-Pacific field.

Mid-Pacific leads the ILH at 8-1. Pac-Five is 1-7.

MPI sent nine batters to the plate in the first inning, scoring four runs on six hits, highlighted by Asato's homer. He added a two-run single in a three-run second as the Owls took a 7-0 lead.

Kip Masuda added three doubles and two RBIs for Mid-Pacific. The Owls finished with 18 hits.

• Iolani 8, Kamehameha 0: Eric Muraoka pitched a four-hitter to lead the Raiders past the Warriors in an ILH game at Ala Wai Field.

Wally Marciel had two hits, including a double and three RBIs, for Iolani.

Iolani is 5-5, Kamehameha 6-4.

Punahou and Saint Louis are 7-3 and tied for second in the ILH.

David McCoy had a two-run single and Brian Tabata had an RBI triple for Maryknoll in the sixth.

Maryknoll is 1-7-1. Damien is 2-7.
