Services Saturday for ex-mayor Schaub

Private services will be held Saturday off waters at Anahola, Kaua'i, where Victor Thomas Schaub, 61, the former mayor of Arcata, Calif., lost his life trying to help his grandchildren.

The California resident was an attorney, a teacher at Kaua'i Community College, mediator, Democratic Party activist and Unitarian minister.

Schaub is survived by wife, Sondra; daughter, Heidi Claasen; son, Michael; parents, Thomas and Marjoria; sisters, Reginia Bushor and Mark; two grandchildren. Arrangements by Borthwick Kauai Mortuary.
