Kitagawa's one-hitter lifts Kalani over Moanalua, 1-0

Senior left-hander Randy Kitagawa pitched a one-hitter and Kalani scored in the bottom of the seventh to beat Moanalua, 1-0, in an O'ahu Interscholastic Association Eastern Division baseball game at Kahala Field.

Kitagawa, who struck out nine and did not issue a walk, gave up a soft line single to John Estores leading off the seventh inning.

Darren Takemoto batted 2 for 3 and Dustin Goya scored on an error for the Falcons.

FARRINGTON 10, KAILUA 9: The Governors scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh inning — the last two scoring on a fielding error — to hand the visiting Surfriders their first loss of the season.

Ryan Rodrigues hit two of Kailua's five home runs.
