HAWAI'I BOWL
Hawai'i Bowl on Christmas Eve at 2 p.m.

The Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl yesterday officially announced its move from Christmas Day to 2 p.m. on Christmas Eve this year.

"I think it is the best kickoff time a bowl in Hawai'i has ever had," said Jim Donovan, executive director of the game.

In both its previous years the game was held on Christmas Day.

"This should give everybody an opportunity to be out of the stadium by 6 p.m. or 6:30 p.m. at the latest and it gives them plenty of time to do last-minute shopping or any of the family activities they would normally do," Donovan said.

The game's move was precipitated by the NFL's announcement Wednesday that it is scheduling a Christmas Day doubleheader.
