FUN HOUSE
Verbal flub on cheesy spud

One afternoon after I picked up my 5-year-old daughter, Bryndi, from school, she asked my how my day was and what I ate for lunch.

I told her what I had, and then I asked what she had for lunch.

She said she had chocolate milk, applesauce, and chips with cheese.

I said, "Chips with cheese? Was it potato chips?"

She said, "No, chips with cheese on top."

I said, "Oh, like potatoes au gratin."

"No!" she exclaimed. "They weren't rotten, they were cooked!"
