2004 NFL draft series begins in Advertiser

Advertiser Staff

Today—Offensive prospects. C5

Tomorrow—Defensive prospects

Friday—Mock NFL draft

The Honolulu Advertiser again will be your headquarters for the 2004 NFL draft.

The draft, which will be conducted Saturday and next Sunday in New York, will alter the lives of more than 250 football players, including a few from the University of Hawai'i.

UH players likely to be drafted include defensive tackle Isa'ako "Isaac" Sopoaga and defensive end Travis LaBoy.

The Advertiser will begin its preview today with a two-part series looking at the top prospects on offense and defense.

The previews analyze the top players "measurables," such as height, weight, speed and strength, and "intangibles," such as instinct and determination.

Providing analyses will be Mel Kiper Jr., a long-time NFL draft analyst for ESPN and author of the NFL Draft Report.
