Tonight's Must-See

"Frasier," 8 p.m., NBC. As "Frasier" nears its May 13 finale, viewers face a question: Is it possible that Frasier Crane, on an 11-year losing streak in romance, will find the right woman? He's certainly trying. Frasier hired a quirky matchmaker (Laura Linney), then decided she is the one he needs. Tonight, he schemes to lure her away from her rugged boyfriend (Aaron Eckhart).

Of Note

"VH1 Divas," 5 p.m., VH1. Here's a quick rerun of Sunday's concert. It links stars of the past (Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Debbie Harry, and Cyndi Lauper) and present (Jessica Simpson, Ashanti, Eve, Joss Stone).

"Whoopi," 7 p.m., NBC. In the season finale of this above-average comedy, Mavis' brother is a Republican election candidate. His opponent soon lashes out at him and at an angry Mavis.

"American Idol," 7 p.m., Fox. This has become a true diva confrontation, with the judges stunned last week by the powerhouse singing of Fantasia Barrino, La Toya London and Jennifer Hudson. Tonight, the final seven singers perform.

"24," 8 p.m., Fox. With the evil Saunders holding the virus, he's in control. Last week, he forced the president to have a staffer killed. Tonight, he makes his ultimate demand.

"Independent Lens: Ram Dass Fierce Grace," 10 p.m., PBS. In 1963, Richard Albert and Timothy Leary were fired from their Harvard faculty jobs because of their LSD research. Albert traveled to India, where a guru renamed him Ram Dass. He became an author and spiritual adviser. This documentary ranges from vintage film of the hippie days to a look at Dass now.

"The Shield," 10 p.m., FX. Vic's team scrambles to break into the captain's safe to steal a list that contains the serial numbers from marked money — money linked to their train heist. Meanwhile, a bizarre case involves murder tips contained in a Spanish-language song. The result packs strong surprises.
