Ex-Isles-based firm Firetide raises $13.6 million

Los Gatos, Calif.-based Firetide Inc. said it received $13.6 million recently in follow-on financing, which will be used to expand sales and marketing as well as product development.
Investors in the wireless computer networking company, which has an office in Honolulu, included California-based Menlo Ventures and Hawai'i-based HMS Ventures. Total investments in the company now stand at $16.8 million.
Firetide moved its headquarters from Honolulu to Los Gatos, where it expected to have more success raising capital.
Firetide produces wireless mesh network equipment and recently began shipping its HotPoint Wireless Mesh Router. It also recently announced a distribution partnership with Connectronics.
