Mid-Pacific edges Iolani

 •  Basketball: McKinley squeaks past Moanalua

Mid-Pacific scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to defeat host Iolani, 3-1, and maintain its lead in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu.

Randy Rundgren, Brenton Endo and Chris Goya drove in runs for the Owls, who improved to 11-2 — a half-game ahead over Punahou and Saint Louis.

Galen Komo drove in the Raiders' run.

• Punahou 8, Pac-Five 1: Shaun Kiriu pitched a one-hitter with eight strikeouts over five innings and batted 2 for 2 to boost the Buffanblu at Ala Wai field.

Kiriu gave up two walks and a hit to the first three batters of the game before retiring the next 15 batters, the final five on strikeouts.

Kasey Ko worked the final two innings.

Saint Louis 14, Maryknoll 1: The Crusaders batted around in the third and fourth inning, scoring a total of 11 runs in a game shortened to five innings by the mercy rule at Ala Wai Field.

Jowen Murray-Thornton had three hits, and Sheldon Santiago, Ryan Sasaki, Chester Wilson and Johnny Gentry each had two RBIs to lead Saint Louis.

Edwin Apostle struck out seven over four innings to earn the victory.

Kamehameha 10, Damien 2: Nick Freitas hit two solo homers and the Warriors scored five runs in the first inning to pull away at Joey DeSa Field.

Travis Young had three hits and Spencer McCready three RBIs for Kamehameha.

Jarrett Takayama batted 3 for 3 for the Monarchs.

Seabury Hall rallied in the bottom of the seventh, but saw the potential tying run negated when another runner was tagged out at second to end the game.
