Advertiser Staff

Four teenage boys who are suspected of taking part in a three-hour spree of robbery and theft involving five convenience stores in Nu'uanu, Palama, Kapalama and Kalihi were arrested at 3 a.m. today in Liliha.

Three of the boys are 17 and the fourth is 16. The boys allegedly stole liquor and other items from 7-Eleven stores at 1755 Nu'uanu Ave., 2404 N. School St., 1900 Dillingham Blvd. and 1136 N. King St., and a Tesoro station at 1311 Palama St., between 10 p.m. yesterday and 1 a.m. today, said Kalihi police Capt. Clayton Saito.

Physical force was allegedly used at some of the stores, said Saito.

There was an attempt to steal cash at one store, but the clerk was unable to open a safe, Saito added. An employee was also punched at one location, he added.

The boys were also booked for criminal property damage for allegedly "trashing" one of the stores, Saito said. The boys were booked as juveniles, and charges are pending.
