2nd woman in Kailua stabbing and fire dies

By Peter Boylan
Advertiser Staff Writer

The second of two women who were stabbed and badly burned when a Kailua home was torched this month died from her injuries yesterday.

Kerry White, 48, suffered stab wounds to the front of her neck and twice to the left side of the chest and burns over 80 percent of her body. She was being cared for at a hospital on the Mainland and died in the company of her husband and other family members.

White died two weeks after her sister-in-law, Sharon White, 58, died from injuries suffered in the attack and fire.

Kerry White's 20-year-old son, Micah, has pleaded not guilty to charges related to the stabbings and the fire.

Micah White now will likely face charges of a second count of murder.

Circuit Judge Richard Perkins had set a tentative trial date of June 28, but that date will likely be set back.
