Pitcher signs with Hilo: Britni Rodriguez, a right-handed pitcher from Mater Dei High School (Calif.), has signed a national letter of intent with the University of Hawai'i at Hilo, according to Hilo softball coach Callen Perreira.

"Britni is an intense pitcher who averages more than a strikeout per inning," Perreira said. "She has good movement on her pitches with a rise ball as her dominant pitch."

According to Perreira, Rodriguez is currently 6-2 with a 0.41 ERA at the Santa Ana, Calif., school. She has pitched 51 2/3 innings, giving up five runs — three earned — 23 hits and six walks while striking out 68.
