Suspect, 36, in Net case sent to jail
Advertiser Staff
A 36-year-old man was ordered yesterday to serve 30 days in jail on weekends for his no-contest plea to using the Internet to try to lure a 13-year-old girl for sex.
Paul Clur, a University of Hawai'i graduate student, was arrested in October after trying to meet with the girl, who turned out to be an undercover agent.
Circuit Judge Karl Sakamoto granted the request by Clur's lawyer, Myles Breiner, to postpone accepting the plea to electronic enticement of a child, but, as a condition, the judge imposed the 30-day jail term.
Clur will have the case dismissed if he stays out of trouble for five years and abides by conditions similar to probation.
