Woman arrested in La'ie car theft

A 29-year-old woman was arrested at the main police cellblock Monday in connection with a June 21 car theft at Malaekahana State Park in La'ie.

A Wahiawa man reported the car stolen about six weeks ago. About a week later, a witness reported seeing a woman with the car in the parking lot of the Laie Inn. The witness identified the woman seen driving the car in a photo lineup July 21.

Officers working on the case learned Monday that the woman was being held in the cellblock at the main station on an unrelated charge, and arrested her in connection with the car theft.
