Man apparently beaten to death

Police homicide detectives were at the twin tower apartment complex near Sam's Club in Pearl City today investigating the apparent beating death of a 44-year-old man.

According to initial reports, the man had gone to the adjacent apartment, occupied by a 22-year-old man, to complain about the noise coming from the younger man's apartment.

2 arrested after vehicle break-in

A man, 18, and woman, 19, from Wahiawa are facing charges of breaking into a car at a Hale'iwa beach yesterday.

A 31-year-old California wo-man told police she had locked her car to go to the beach. When she returned she found her car unlocked with items missing and called police. The suspects were located an hour later and arrested.

Pearl City man held in car theft

A 42-year-old Pearl City man was arrested on auto-theft charges at about 10:20 a.m. in Moanalua Valley yesterday.

An 'Aiea man, 47, said the car was stolen on Mikalemi Street on Thursday. Patrol officers were investigating a suspicious vehicle call in Kalihi when they learned the car had been reported stolen. They arrested the driver without a problem.

Woman says man wanted to kill her

A 29-year-old man was arrested Saturday night on suspicion of terroristic threatening and eight counts of violating a restraining order after an incident with his girlfriend, 26.

The woman said she agreed to meet her boyfriend Saturday night and that the two were in a car in Makiki when they began arguing. She said her boyfriend threatened to kill her and began reaching for a handgun in his car when she was able to get out and run away.

Police found the man at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday and arrested him.
