ML Macadamia reports net loss

ML Macadamia Orchard reported a second-quarter net loss of $161,000, or 2 cents per share, on revenues of $787,000. That compares with a net loss in 2003's second quarter of $185,000, or 2 cents per share, on $1.1 million in revenues. The second quarter normally accounts for less than 4 percent of the year's harvest.

Revenues from macadamia nut sales were $153,000 for the three months ended June 30, compared with $372,000 in the prior year. Farming service revenues were $634,000, down 13.9 percent.

For the first six months of 2004, revenues were $2.8 million and net loss was $256,000, or 3 cents per share. Revenues in the first six months of 2003 were $3.4 million; net loss was $328,000, or 4 cents per share.
