Tonight's Must-See

Soccer, 4:30 a.m., MSNBC. The Olympics have an opening ceremony Friday, but some of the soccer matches start early — before-sunrise early. Here is a women's game between the United States and the host team, Greece.

Of Note

"Texas: America Supersized," 3 p.m., Trio. Christipher Hitchens applies his sardonic wit to this exploration of the second-largest state of the union. Some of the European — and very liberal — Hitchens targets are obvious. George W. Bush and gun-owning ranchers, for instance. Still, much of "Texas" is wickedly inventive fun.

"Le Divorce" (2002), 5 p.m., Cinemax. Kate Hudson and Naomi Watts play sisters in this pleasant-enough box-office dud. Isabel (Hudson) travels to Paris to visit her ex-patriate half-sister, Roxeanne (Watts), and finds her pregnant and upset at news that her husband has been cheating on her. The Merchant Ivory production's digs at French and American culture are often funny, but the ending comes off about as frosty as current relations between the two countries.

"Teen Choice Awards," 7 p.m., Fox. Last Wednesday, Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie wrapped up the second season of their popular "The Simple Life." Viewers won't feel any withdrawal pains tonight, though. They're hosting this show, which includes an expected appearance by Bethany Hamilton and music by Lenny Kravitz, JoJo and blink-182.

"My Wife and Kids," 7 and 7:30 p.m., ABC. In the first rerun, Michael (Damon Wayans) goes camping with his daughter and her friends. In the second, he and his wife are called for jury duty.

"Law & Order," 8 and 9 p.m., NBC. The first rerun involves the murder of a peace activist; the second involves the murder of a guy who was hated by many New York Yankee fans.

"In the Jury Room," 9 p.m., ABC. This is the second half of a documentary that follows a jury during an Ohio murder case.

"Rescue Me," 10 p.m., FX. After accepting a date with a friend's widow, Tommy (Dennis Leary) gets way uncomfortable when she makes a pass at him.
