Sunset at Beach to be starry night
Advertiser Staff
So what if Hawai'i is among the last to vote in national elections? Folks on O'ahu will be the first to weigh in on NBC's new cop drama "Hawaii."
The official broadcast premiere for the show is Sept. 1, but NBC Universal Television Studio is hosting an advanced screening of the first episode Aug. 29 at Sunset on the Beach in Waikiki.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with the red-carpet arrivals of producer Jeff Eastin and stars Michael Biehn, Sharif Atkins, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Ivan Sergei, Eric Balfour, Aya Sumika and Peter Navy Tuiasosopo. The screening follows at 7:05 p.m.
"Hawaii" follows the lead of the Fox hotel drama "North Shore," which premiered its pilot episode at Sunset on the Beach a day before its broadcast premiere in June. That event drew an overflow crowd to Queen's Surf.
