Tonight's Must-See

"The Olympics," 6 to 10 p.m., 10:30 p.m. to early a.m. NBC. The games begin today on seven channels. Still, NBC will save up the big games (taped from earlier in the day) for prime time. Tonight, that means the finals in four swimming events. Gold medals will be handed out in the men's and women's 400-meter medley, men's 400-meter freestyle and women's 400-meter freestyle relay. Also, there will be semifinals in men's 100-meter breaststroke and women's 100-meter butterfly. Other prime time events include men's gymnastics, cycling (road race) and synchronized platform diving.

Of Note

More Olympics, 6 a.m.-noon, NBC. That includes beach volleyball, swimming, men's gymnastics, women's synchronized springboard diving and men's four-person rowing.

And more Olympics (cable): CNBC will air events through the early morning hours until 10 a.m. today, including women's U.S. soccer team vs. Brazil at 5 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., MSNBC has preliminary boxing matches, and Bravo has badminton, table tennis and more from 2 to 5 p.m.

"Casablanca" (1942), 2 p.m., Turner Classic Movies. Here's one of the most praised films of all time. It's all about Humphrey Bogart and Ingrid Bergman and wartime's thwarted love. That's the highlight of an all-Bogart day on TCM; it's followed by "Passage to Marseille" (1944) at 4 p.m.

"The Kid" (2000), 7 p.m., ABC. Bruce Willis plays a guy whose life hasn't worked out the way he expected it to. Now he has to confront his boyhood self.

"Tarzan" (1999), 8 and 9:40 p.m., Disney Channel. This will satisfy the kids who are already grumbling about too much Olympics. It's a popular cartoon, starring the voices of Tony Goldwyn and Minnie Driver.

"Navy NCIS," 9 p.m., CBS. A Marine dies on the president's plane.
