Waikiki man arrested in chase

A 40-year-old Waikiki man was arrested for criminal property damage after following another man, cutting him off, and hitting the man's car with his, police said.

At 7:58 a.m. Saturday, a 42-year-old Kalihi man driving in Kalihi saw the 40-year-old following him. The 40-year-old cut him off then tried to hit his car in an effort to stop him, police said.

Neither man was injured.


Taxi driver's wallet stolen

A 25-year-old man was arrested for theft after he stole a taxi driver's wallet in Waikiki, police said.

At 12:07 a.m. Saturday, a taxi driver picked up the man on Ala Wai Boulevard and took him to Waikiki.

As the taxi stopped, the man grabbed the 54-year-old taxi driver's wallet before running off, police said.


New boyfriend assaulted

A 29-year-old Waipahu man was arrested yesterday after he assaulted his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend as the couple sat in their car, police said.

At 1:45 a.m. Sunday, the Waipahu man was in a Chinatown parking lot when he saw the couple.

The Waipahu man opened the right passenger door and began assaulting the boyfriend, police said.
