Advertiser Staff

Hawai'i finished ninth at the 36th Eddie Hogan Cup Team Matches yesterday in Portland, Ore.

Southern California won the 12-team competition with a two-round total of 4-over-par 436 at the Riverside Country Club. Hawai'i shot 455.

The 36-hole team matches pit the best junior golfers from the Western United States and Canada against one another in a team format with the three lowest scores each day determining the team total.

Kane'ohe's Travis Toyama shot a 5-over-par 149 (16th) followed by Lihu'e's Chad Nonaka (153, tie-27th), Kapa'a's Kellen Watabu (153, tie-27th) and Kapa'a's Bret Netzer (158, tie-40th). Five golfers shared individual medalist honors at even-par 144.
