Cruise line adds cell-phone link

NCL Corp. will become the first cruise line in the United States to provide the capability for passengers to use their cell phones on cruises, including those in Hawai'i.

The new technology will be introduced next month and go fleet-wide within a year. The offering combines satellite and wireless services.



State to change welfare-to-work

The state Department of Human Services will hold an information meeting on plans to change the current welfare-to-work program, 9 a.m. Thursday in the Lt. Governor's Conference Room, on state Capitol's top floor.

The meeting is aimed at businesses that want to participate in the state's First-To-Work program, which helps adults on government assistance get jobs. For information, call 591-9193.
