Tonight's Must-See
"Olympics," 6-10 p.m., NBC. Tonight's prime-time coverage of the women's gymnastics individual all-around final, swimming finals (men's 200-meter backstroke and 200-meter individual medley; women's 200-meter breaststroke, 100-meter freestyle), and women's beach volleyball. Coverage continues on NBC from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. Also, coverage throughout the day on CNBC, MSNBC and Bravo. Of Note
"T-Rex: Warrior Or Wimp?" 5, 8 p.m., Discovery. Paleontologists defend theories that Tyrannosaurus rex was either a predator like no other or a "stinking, lumbering scavenger." Their words, not mine. "Recipe For Success," 6:30 p.m., Food Network. Marlie Hall meets up with a trio of lawyers who gave up their practice to open a restaurant. Surprise! It's a peanut-butter restaurant in a Minnesota mall. "Road Trip" (2003), 8 p.m., ABC. A nasty comedy about a group of nasty college kids who travel cross-country, apparently, to gross out Midwesterners. Directed by Todd Philips (who directed the far funnier "Old School"), the movie has its moments. But not many. "The Forgetting: A Portrait Of Alzheimer's," 8 p.m., PBS. A repeat of a January PBS broadcast, this heart-rending documentary explores the debilitating disease that affects about 20,000 in Hawai'i and about 5 million nationwide. "Soundstage," 10 p.m., PBS. Joan Baez performs with musicians who have followed her muse, such as folk fave Gillian Welch and members of Nickel Creek.
