Aquarium hosts fun, educational event

Here's a chance for families to learn about Hawai'i's reefs and how to preserve them for future generations. It's all part of the Waikiki Aquarium's free Family Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.

Keiki games, displays and interactive exhibits will take you to the depths of the ocean. Learn how invasive foreign fish, algae and invertebrates are attacking Hawai'i's offshore ecosystem. There also will be a full-scale cleanup near the War Memorial Natatorium, where alien seaweeds will be pulled from Waikiki Beach. Call 923-9741 for more information and directions.
