BASKETBALL

Rainbow Wahine open season Nov. 26 to 28

A scheduling change has the University of Hawai'i women's basketball team opening its season with the eight-team Hawaiian Airlines Rainbow Wahine Classic on Nov. 26 to 28, after an earlier tournament was moved to December.

Hawai'i's 2004-05 schedule includes three preseason tournaments and an 18-game regular-season schedule.

The Rainbows were originally scheduled to open their season with the Waikiki Beach Marriott Invitational on Nov. 20 to 21. But UH could not secure enough teams for that date, and the tournament was rescheduled to Dec. 9 to 11. It will now feature BYU and Southeast Missouri State in a round-robin format.
