United Way head to retire

Aloha United Way President Irving Lauber announced yesterday he would retire from his position Dec. 1 after 14 years.
Susan Au Doyle, vice president and chief operating officer at Aloha United Way, will succeed him.
"I feel extremely fortunate to have spent my career doing something so meaningful," said Lauber, 62. His retirement ends a 35-year career with United Way, serving with local affiliates in Syracuse, N.Y.; Houston, Pittsburgh and Cleveland.
Maui Land & Pineapple Co. said yesterday that Randy Moore had tendered his resignation from the board of directors, effective immediately, citing time conflicts with his work as a public school teacher. Moore has been a director of ML&P since 1994.
In May 2001, Moore left his job as president and chief executive officer of Kane'ohe Ranch to teach at Honolulu's Central Middle School.
"Randy is an outstanding business thinker and educator," said David Cole, president and CEO of Maui Land & Pine.
