By Leila Wai
Advertiser Staff Writer

Princeton junior defender/midfielder Romy Trigg-Smith will be making her national television debut when the Tigers (19-2) take on UCLA (17-6) in the semifinal game of the NCAA Women's College Cup, college soccer's version of the final four.

Trigg-Smith
The game is scheduled to be televised Friday at 9 a.m. Hawai'i time on ESPN2.

Trigg-Smith, a 2002 graduate of Punahou from Kailua, is the only player from Hawai'i — male or female — still competing in the NCAA tournament.

She is the first player from Hawai'i to advance to the College Cup since Iris Lancaster (Kamehameha) of Notre Dame and Crissy Marti (Kapa'a) of Portland did so in 2000.

Santa Clara (18-4-2) and Notre Dame (23-1-1) meet in the other semifinal. The championship match is Sunday at 8 a.m. Hawai'i time.

Stanford (22-4) plays Loyola Marymount (20-10) and UCLA (23-3) takes on Princeton (25-4) tomorrow.

The national championship match will be televised live on CSTV on Friday at 9 a.m.
