Suspect in island-wide manhunt caught

The manhunt for Daniel Vesper ended Friday evening when police arrested him at a house in Kalihi.Police say Vesper, 43, ran over HPD officer Jeffrey K. Omai, 35, on Thursday at Honolulu Community College when officers attempted to arrest him in connection with several felony charges.
Omai is in guarded condition at The Queen's Medical Center.
Vesper had eluded an island-wide manhunt.
The arrest took place shortly after 6 p.m. at a house on Umi Street.
