Service today for crash victim

A memorial service for Mark J. Roben, 31, an O'ahu Waste Services employee who was killed in a traffic accident last Friday in Kapolei, will be held at 7 p.m. today at Borthwick Mortuary.

Roben was a passenger in a runaway garbage truck that rumbled down Makakilo Drive and crashed into the parking lot of Chili's Bar & Grill in the Kapolei Shopping Center. Roben died at the scene and the driver was seriously injured.

The accident remains under investigation.

Roben is survived by his wife, Jackie; daughter, Megan; son, Dustin; parents, Richard and Lana Roben; brothers, Richard Jr. and Brandon; and half brothers, Ricky Hansen, Christian Hansen and Kevin Hansen.

Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Aloha attire is requested. Borthwick Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
