Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Construction of the $39 million Outrigger Port Douglas Beach Club Resort in north Queensland will begin this month, with its opening scheduled for October 2005. The boutique resort will include 100 units among four low-rise buildings.
Outrigger will also assume management in February of the 115-year-old Terraces Hotel near the hot-springs district of Taupo on New Zealand's North Island. The property, built in the late 1880s, will be rebranded the Outrigger Terraces Resort, Lake Taupo.
The hotel will offer 100 rooms, including 20 in the original building and 80 in a new wing that owners will begin constructing early next year.

The Terraces Hotel, on New Zealand's North Island, will be renamed the Outrigger Terraces Resort, Lake Taupo, after Outrigger takes over management in February.
