Man severely injured by SUV

A man was taken to The Queen's Medical Center in extremely critical condition last night after being hit by an SUV at Vineyard Boulevard and Nu'uanu Avenue.

Personnel from the C1 EMS unit said the accident occurred at about 11 p.m. The man, who was in his 40s, was crossing the street when he was hit and dragged by the sport utility vehicle. EMS workers said he did not have a pulse when taken to Queen's.

No other information was available at presstime.
