KELLY SOUZA has been promoted to branch manager at Hawaii Pacific Federal Credit Union at Ala Moana. Before joining the credit union, the six-year financial services veteran had been a senior teller at Hawaii Schools Federal Credit Union and at American Savings Bank.

• Former state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs commissioner of securities RYAN S. USHIJIMA has been named senior vice president and chief compliance officer for First Hawaiian Bank's money-management subsidiary, Bishop Street Capital Management. He is a member of the State Bar Association and a board trustee for the state Deferred Compensation Plan.

Irvin P.K. Wong was promoted to assistant vice president and manager of First Hawaiian Bank's Kalihi branch. He has held various other positions, including assistant operations supervisor, note department supervisor and officer, and assistant branch manager.

ROLAND KAOPUIKI, a 17-year veteran of Hawaiian Airlines, has been named station manager of Hawaiian's Seattle Station. Kaopuiki enrolled in Hawaiian's Station Manager Pool internal recruitment program designed to develop leaders within the company.

• 'Olelo Community Television has named JAMES "SPARKY" RODRIGUES and ALAN SUTTERFIELD as community development managers, new positions designed to help underserved communities take advantage of public access television services.

Wai'anae resident Rodrigues, former manager of 'Olelo's Wai'anae Community Media Center, will now concentrate his community outreach efforts in Leeward O'ahu, primarily Waipahu.

Kane'ohe resident Sutterfield, most recently client services manager, will lead 'Olelo's efforts in Windward O'ahu, Waimanalo to Ka'a'awa.

• SMG Hawai'i, which markets and manages the Hawai'i Convention Center, has appointed DERRICK B. FRANKLIN as its new regional sales manager, based in Washington, D.C. Franklin's responsibilities include selling citywide conventions, reserving and booking function space, creating and evaluating sales programs and responding to sales inquiries and leads.

Franklin previously worked as director of sales for the Fort Worth (Texas) Convention & Visitors Bureau, director of southeast region sales for LA Inc., The Convention & Visitors Bureau and global director for Starwood Global Sales in Washington, D.C.
