Use gentle laundry soap to keep shirt collar clean

If you want your favorite white shirt to last longer and stay fresher, attack that ring around the collar (and cuffs) regularly.

When you take the shirt off, take a nail brush and gentle laundry soap such as Forever New (sold at Macy's and Neiman Marcus) or Ivory liquid (at drug stores) and scrub lightly. It takes just a minute or two.

Neither your laundry nor your dry cleaner can get at those stains once the oils from your skin have settled in.
