Heavily armed members of the Specialized Services Division set off a stun grenade about 8:50 a.m. and forced their way into the home to the rear of the lot at 2010 California Ave.

They arrested 39-year-old Daniel Crawford on suspicion of first-degree terroristic threatening.

Maj. Stephen Kornegay, Wahiawa police district commander, said patrol officers went to the home about 3:40 a.m. in response to a call about an argument between two brothers.

Officers reported finding one of the men involved in the argument with a machete in his hand, Kornegay said.

"The suspect made some sort of slashing motion and ran into the house behind his brother's (house) in the front," Kornegay said.

Police were told that there were three men in the rear house at 2010 California Ave.

The specialized services officers arrived at the scene about 6 a.m. and began discussions with the men in the rear house. One of the men in the back house walked out about 8 a.m. and was taken away by police officers to be debriefed about the situation.

Kornegay said the man who walked out of the house told police the two other men inside were sleeping. Traffic on California Avenue was halted briefly as the tactical officers quickly approached the older, single-story house, set off what Kornegay described as a "distraction device" and arrested Crawford.

Kornegay said no one was injured during the arrest. Crawford was brought out, with his hands cuffed behind him, about five minutes after police entered the home. The other man who was in the home when police went in was led out a few minutes after Crawford and looked dazed but otherwise uninjured.

Iliahi school was closed today as a precaution.
