NCL to buy Maui tomatoes

NCL America has reached a tentative agreement to buy Maui-grown tomatoes and is in discussions to purchase up to 20 types of vegetables and herbs from Maui farmers.

The partnership followed meetings between the cruise line and representatives from the Maui County Farm Bureau, the Maui Farmers Cooperative Exchange and individual farmers. The farm bureau plans to see if additional farmers are interested in working with NCL.

NCL America is also working with the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism to schedule meetings with Big Island and O'ahu farmers.
