Kumu Kahua Theatre and University of Hawai'i Manoa Theatre Department co-sponsored original playwriting contest, with Hawai'i, Pacific/Rim and resident-only categories, accepting entries through Jan. 3. Flier and contest rules available by calling 536-4222.

Windward Community College and Starbucks Coffee are accepting entries for Star Poets 2005. Students in grades 3-12 may submit one or more poems, of 20 lines or less, for prizes to be awarded to students and their schools.
