Honolulu's Michelle Wie, 15, has accepted an invitation to play in the LPGA's newest event, the SBS Open at the North Shore's Turtle Bay Resort, Feb. 21-26.

With an exemption from Title Sponsor, Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS), the amateur phenom joins an elite of the LPGA for its first full-field competition of the year 2005.

Among those expected to play in the event are Annika Sorenstam, Grace Park, Se Ri Pak, Christie Kerr and rookie standout, Paula Creamer.

The tournament, held on the Arnold Palmer Course at Turtle Bay Resort, carries a $1 million purse, $150,000 for first prize.
