RUSSELL K. AKANA, 78, of Seattle, Wash., formerly of Hana, Maui, died Dec. 17, 2004. Former Pacific Maritime Association cargo supervisor. Survived by wife, Marjorie; son, Wayne; daughters, Ruslyn Adkisson, Beverly Akana-Forrest, Diane and Jonelle; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. MILDRED VIVIAN PHILLIPS DODS, 82, of Honolulu, died Dec. 23, 2004. Born in Honolulu. Retired Princess Kaiulani Hotel cashier. Survived by sons, Walter Jr., Robert, Thomas and Richard; daughters, Suzanne Chong-Kee, Patricia Kosaki and Pauline Arellano; brothers, Harry and Richard Phillips; sister, Rachael Phillips Silva; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. HELEN YASUKO HAGA, 78, of Hilo, Hawai'i, died Dec. 20, 2004. Born in Beppu, Japan. A homemaker; former K's Pantry waitress, and Hawaiian Airlines tour guide. RYAN MICHAEL AZEVEDO LEHMANN, 9, of Hilo, Hawa'i, died Dec. 19, 2004. Born in Hilo. A Waiakeawaena School student and member of Cub Scouts Pack 65, Andrews Athletic Association, Waiakea-Uka Athletic Association and American Youth Soccer Organization. Survived by parents, Michael and Leona; brother, Aaron Azevedo; grandparents, Gary and Patricia Lehmann and Lionel "Buddy" and Edna Azevedo. Visitation 5 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at New Hope Christian Fellowship Church, Hilo; service 7 p.m. Graveside service 10 a.m. Wednesday at Homelani Memorial Park, Lehua Section. Casual or sports attire. EDWARD PAYSON MYERS II, 61, of Honolulu, died Dec. 6, 2004. Born in Clearwater, Fla. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, National Undersea Research Program, chief scientist. Survived by wife, Maureen; son, Edward III; stepson, David Reynaud; daughter, Brynn; stepmother, Barbara Tilley; one grandchild. Private scattering of ashes at his favorite surfing spot. No flowers. Survived by husband, Iwao; sons, William Kay Jr., LeRoy Kay and Adam Kay Sr.; daughters, Pamela Kay, Nani Malani and Karoll Penovaroff; sisters, Rose Skelton, Mary Bartalome, Sarah Jane Andrews, Dorothy Varde and Dolores Castillo; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
