Book can help teens knit trendy items

OK, Hawai'i might not really be the place to bundle up with hats and scarves.

But knitting is still riding a wave of popularity, attracting droves of high school and college-age knitting clubs.

You can learn to make a trendy poncho or purse, a tropical tank top, or even a warm holiday gift for your Mainland friends in the new book "Teen Knitting Club" (Artisan Books, $17.95). It includes 35 knitting projects, 50 color pictures and a guide to starting your own knitting club.
