Mililani beats Kapolei, 9-6
Advertiser Staff
Mililani out-slugged defending state champion Kapolei, 9-6, yesterday to remain undefeated in the O'ahu Interscholastic Association's newly created Red Conference Western Division. The league's top 14 teams from last year were grouped into a power-based Red (Division I) Conference, with seven-team Eastern and Western Divisions.

The OIA's remaining eight teams are in the White (Division II) Conference.
Punahou's Adrienne Tanaka beats the tag attempt by St. Francis catcher Ashley Smith to complete a two-run home run.
Mililani junior Dana Lee and freshman Elsa Apo each slammed home runs yesterday, with Apo also adding a double for the Trojans (4-0).
The Hurricanes (3-1) hit three home runs two by Austi Paris and one by Jazmin Yoro but their defense committed four errors, including three in the second inning when Mililani took a 3-2 lead.
The Trojans opened it up to 7-2 in the fourth on four hits, before Paris' two-run shot made it 7-4 in the sixth. Mililani got the runs back in the bottom half on Lee's solo home run and a Kapolei error.
The Hurricanes graduated eight seniors and lost two more impact players when Malama Manuma tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee in August and Anita Manuma transferred to St. Francis.
