BYUH falls to Humboldt State

Grayson Moyer scored 25 points, and Kevin Johnson added 21 points and 15 rebounds as Humboldt State (Calif.) edged Brigham Young-Hawai'i, 83-81, last night at Arcata, Calif.

Jake Chrisman scored 26 of his career-high 33 points in the second half for the No. 9-ranked Seasiders, who dropped their second consecutive game.

Chrisman had a chance to tie the game in the final seconds, but his shot was blocked.

Austin Smylie added 15 points and Paul Peterson added 12 for BYUH (5-3).

Humboldt State improved to 8-2.

BYUH lost at Sonoma State (Calif.), 88-79, on Tuesday.

The Seasiders will conclude their road trip with a game against Cal Poly Pomona on Monday.



Northwest Nazarene edges HPU, 62-61

Ryan McCarthy scored 18 points as Northwest Nazarene (Idaho) beat Hawai'i Pacific, 62-61, last night at Mid-Pacific Institute gym.

Mesut Ademoglu led Northwest Nazarene (6-5) with nine rebounds and three assists.

Audrius Peciukas and Gene Barnes each scored 15 points for HPU (5-4).
