International players to meet in tennis finals

Four international players will meet in the finals of the Hilton Waikoloa Village USTA Challengers today on the Big Island.
Russia's Dmitry Tursunov, the No. 2 seed, beat Jan Frode Anderson of Norway, 6-2, 7-6 (3), yesterday and will face Colombia's Alejandro Falla in the final.
Alejandro, a qualifier, beat Eric Tano of the United States, 7-6 (0), 6-4, yesterday.
In the women's draw, Hungary's Melinda Czink and Maria Emilia Salerni of Italy will face each other in today's final.
The top-seeded Czink beat American Marissa Irvin, 6-2, 6-3, yesterday, while Emilia Salerni beat Selima Sfar of Tunisia, 6-4, 4-6, 7-5.
In yesterday's women's doubles final, Gisela Dulko and Patricia Tarabini beat Amanda Augustus and Natalie Grandin, 1-6, 6-3, 6-3.
Play starts at 10 a.m. today.

Hilo's Penn wins: Hilo's BJ Penn won the UFC welterweight championship with a first-round tap-out over Matt Hughes in last night's UFC 46: Super Natural at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Penn (8-1-1) beat Hughes (36-4-0) with a rear naked choke hold.
BASEBALL HPU takes pair from Hilo: Hawai'i Pacific opened its season by sweeping Hawai'i-Hilo yesterday at Wong Stadium.
David Zamarano scattered three hits over six innings in a 5-1 opening win.
HPU needed to rally in the second game en route to a 5-4 victory. Hilo (4-10) gave up four runs on four hits in the top of the sixth and never recovered.
INDOOR TRACK & FIELD UH debuts at Huskie Invitational: The University of Hawai'i women's indoor track and field team began its second season yesterday at the Huskie Invitational in Washington.
UH's Ashley Monfort finished eighth in the 400-meter dash (58.28) and Amanda Page high jumped 1.55 meters to finish fifth.
