Advertiser Staff

Advertiser Offensive Player of Year Jeremy Perry of has verbally committed to the University of Arizona.

"I wanted to get off the island and see something new", he said. "He (offensive line coach Eric Wolford) said I had a good chance of starting because the depth on the offensive line wasn't that deep."

He told UA coach Mike Stoops of his decision at about 2:50 p.m. today.

Perry played offensive line for the state champion Red Raiders.

Another Kahuku player, tight end Tevita Finau, said yesterday he will accept a football scholarship to Oregon State.

Also, Kapolei all-state all-purpose player Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada will attend the U.S. Naval Academy, Hurricanes coach Darren Hernandez said.

More to come shortly.
