Man stabbed after bus ride

Advertiser Staff

A 53-year-old man was stabbed several times after he got off a bus last night at Kilauea and Wai'alae avenues.

The man got off a bus at around 8:30 p.m. and was walking home when a man approached him from behind, repeatedly hit him, then stopped and walked away.

The victim did not realize he had been stabbed, and walked home, police said.

A family member noticed the extent of his injuries and took him to the hospital where he was treated for stab wounds to the mouth, cheek, forearm and shoulder.

Police are looking for the assailant, who was last seen wearing a dark jacket. He is described as "short," weighing about 180 pounds with short dark hair and a medium build. He is wanted on suspicion of attempted murder.
