Workers vote to change unions

Employees of the Convalescent Center of Honolulu said yesterday they have voted to organize under a new labor union, the Hawaii Hospital Healthcare Worker's Union, led by Jim Kellogg.

The workers were previously represented by the United Public Workers.


Verizon invested $9M in Hawai'i

Verizon Wireless said yesterday that it invested more than $9 million in its wireless network in Hawai'i in 2003. The company said network use in Hawai'i increased more than 40 percent in 2003 over 2002.
